Director of Counseling and Wellness

Position Summary: The Director of Counseling and Wellness is responsible for overseeing all administrative, clinical and educational aspects of the Health and Student Counseling Center along with providing mental health care to students and consultative services to the campus community. This oversight includes the planning, development, and evaluation of both group and individual counseling services for all enrolled students in order to ensure consistent high quality care based upon professional best practices and research. The director provides vision, strategic planning, and assessment for the center to advance department goals and the University strategic plan. The Director has supervisory oversight of statutory responsibility for compliance with immunization requirements. In addition, the Director manages the contractual relationship with the third party clinical agency (currently Advocate Health Care) who provides clinical care for the campus community. This oversight includes serving as liaison to vendor personnel, convening meetings to ensure efficient and effective operation of clinical care, and engagement with the community to provide programming in collaboration with the vendor and/or other internal or external partners.
Minimum Qualifications: a¢Masteras degree in clinical counseling, clinical psychology or related field required. a¢Licensed or licensed eligible candidate. (Evidence of license before confirmation of hire). a¢Minimum of 2-3 years of administrative and supervision experience. a¢Minimum of 3 years of professional clinical experience. a¢Successfully pass a criminal background check after time of hire. a¢Provision of academic and clinical credentials at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: a¢Experience in a college or university counseling center with a diverse student population desirable. a¢Experience collaborating with clinical health care providers is desirable. a¢Experience in written and electronic forms of records and data management is desirable. a¢LCPC from the State of Illinois preferred
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 with some nights and weekends as needed or required.
