Responsibilities:

As the School of Journalism expands its graduate programs we seek a part-time social media coordinator. This position will have two primary functions. The first function will be public relations, the position will be responsible for assisting to create the message by writing short articles, taking photographs and producing short videos for the School's websites. This will include traveling to co-op students' worksites to observe them in their work environment. It will also require determining what faculty are working on for their research and projects.
The second function will be to provide office support to the Director and Academic Coordinator for the School's fast-growing graduate programs in Media Innovation and Media Advocacy.

The position is 27 hours per week and is benefit eligible.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and two - five years of writing or journalism/public relations experience. Must be able to produce short articles (features, profiles, question and answer articles) about the School of Journalism and graduate programs. Must be able to take photographs and edit videos. The candidate should be experienced in social media platforms i.e. Twitter, Blog and maintain a Facebook presence on behalf of the School. The candidate should be organized and be able to take on a variety of administrative tasks.
