Job Description

Position Summary: Performs analyst duties, which includes sampling product and performing all physical and chemical tests outlined in theQuality Assurance Manual. Responsible for maintaining requirements for proper lab operation. Responsible for pre-op inspection and communicating any issues found with sanitation & production departments. Consults with Assistant Q.A. Manager to resolve quality and food safety issues and functions as an information source to Q.A. and various plant departments when issues occur. Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: •Follows Work Practices in Quality Assurance manual and compares test results to standards.•Performs daily pre-op swabbing & inspection of equipment and facility, immediately reporting any issues to Sanitation &Production department supervisors and/or managers. •Performs weekly traceability exercise on raw materials (ingredients & packaging) and finished product along with planttraceability team, documenting root cause analysis & corrective action for any issues found. •Performs daily analysis of weight control data for all production lines (SQC); sends daily and monthly report to Operations,Accounting & QA.•Summarizes pest control company's weekly reports on spreadsheet to identify and address trends.•Compiles density results each day for all products as they are manufactured in order to maintain a running average of thedensity of all products. •Collect samples from test runs to be sent to R&D, Microbiology and customers, as well as duplicate samples to be maintained atthe plant. •Perform shelf life studies on all new or revised products.•Summarize analytical data each day, which is used to compile monthly customer reports (as applicable).•Reports processing problems or potential problems immediately to Production Manager and Assistant Q.A. Manager.•Reports packaging line problems or potential problems immediately to Production Manager and Assistant Q.A. Manager.•Collects retain samples at prescribed frequency and maintains samples in an orderly fashion. Performs retain review eachmonth as assigned. •Maintains lab work area in a clean and orderly fashion.•Performs calibration of lab equipment prior to start-up of first shift (daily tasks) and as assigned (weekly or monthly tasks).•Follow and generally keep aware of the plant GMPs and reports anything which might have a negative affect on our products orcompany. •Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) established by Assistant Q.A. Manager or Senior Q.A. Manager and safety guidelinesestablished by Plant Management. •Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HACCP support programs; monitors critical control points (CCPs) for pH, wateractivity and metal detection; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. •Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Assistant Q.A. Manager or Senior Q.A. Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification Requirements: •Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.•1+ years of experience as a quality assurance analyst in a food related industry.•Ability to work cooperatively in a team.•Strong oral and written communication skills and computer skills required.Supervisory Responsibility: None
