Paramedic Program Faculty, Colorado Mountain College, Vail Valley
Colorado Mountain College is seeking an experienced paramedic with dynamic teaching skills for a full time, 12 month/year-round position to begin no later than January, 2018.
CMC’s paramedic program trains students in high level responsibilities such as patient stabilization, scene management, advanced life support, trauma emergencies, pharmacology and patient transportation. This program also prepares students for the National Registry exam and Colorado state certification. The year-long paramedic program begins in January of each year, consisting of three full time semesters totaling over 1200 hours of classroom, clinical, and field instruction.
The successful candidate for this faculty opening will work closely with state EMS agencies, fire departments, and clinical sites in regard to program coordination, as well as local fire departments, EMS agencies, healthcare providers, ski patrol, forest service and river guiding outfitters, who typically employ graduates of the program.
Full time faculty teaching load is 30 credit hours or equivalent duties per year. Responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours, develop rapport with students, participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.
Service activities such as campus and college committees, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention are expected.

Conversational Spanish language abilities may be helpful.
Salary range: $64,006 (with requirements as stated below) - $72,209 (additional certifications plus Master’s Degree). Salary placement dependent upon education, related experience and higher education teaching experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Nationally Registered EMT – Paramedic or State of Colorado EMT – Paramedic Certified required, BLS Instructor Qualified and 10,000 hours occupational experience in the past five years.
Minimum of one year demonstrated teaching/training experience (or equivalent as adjunct faculty).
Successful completion of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Division of EMS Administration, Instructor Course (or completion of this course within the first month of being in position) required.
