Plumbing Design Engineer - Project Manager

Position Summary: This Engineering firm is growing and seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for the plumbing design of projects throughout WI and surrounding states. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design of Domestic Water Distribution, Solar Water Heating, Natural Gas, Acid Waste, Storm & Sanitary Drainage and Medical Gas Distribution

• Project design, planning, and fee proposals budget tracking

• Coordinate with and review plans and work with Municipalities and other approval bodies

• Serve as primary client contact for planned or ongoing projects

• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with existing team of designers and engineers to follow through with tasks and recommend solutions for project designs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 15-20 years' experience working in Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Plumbing Code; HVAC design & engineering experience will not be considered as equivalent experience in plumbing design and engineering

• Knowledge & experience with plumbing equipment and installation

• Experience with AutoCAD, preference will be given to Revit familiarity

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.

• Strong Plumbing & Fire Protection design fundamentals, including a background and knowledge of Wisconsin Plumbing Code, NFPA, life safety codes and health care plumbing design

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and a functional level

• Acting as a primary lead and provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction

• Providing value engineering options for existing designs

• Preparing detailed drawings and models for projects using the applications of theoretical and practical design knowledge

• Must be a licensed PE or DE in Wisconsin (preference given to PE)

• LEED Certification

• Familiarity with the State of Wisconsin DFD design standards
