Senior Financial Aid Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities This position serves Fairmont State University only. The position provides counseling to students and parents in person and over the phone regarding financial aid eligibility, the application process, awarding and disbursement, and other financial aid areas based on federal, state, and institutional policy. The position will also represent the University at high school financial aid nights, FAFSA workshops, Campus Visitation Day, and Orientations. This position serves as the liaison between financial aid and athletics, assuring that all NCAA compliance rules and regulations are being followed. This position serves as the primary processor for the verification, parent loan application, and satisfactory academic progress processing. This position has oversight of one (1) full-time financial aid staff member.
Minimum Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Communications, Business Management or Finance, or any other related field.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications N/A
Type and Amount of Experience Needed - Two to three years of directly related financial aid experience.- One year of NCAA athletic compliance experience.- Two to three years counseling/customer service experience.- One to two years of verification processing experience.
Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience with SCT Banner Processing System.
