Job Description Summary

Supports the Campus President in the successful deployment of strategic initiatives involving campus-based student Access & Completion. Plans, manages, and directs implementation of all aspects of Student Affairs consistent with the College's Student Affairs mission statement and continuous quality initiatives.



Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Leads comprehensive student services operation providing direction and oversight for campus departments: admissions, counseling, recruitment, retention, career services, student life, and athletics, and other student support services

• Works collaboratively at campus and District level to ensure an environment that is focused on student success and provides exceptional customer service for all current and prospective students

• Collaborates with counterparts and colleagues throughout the District to establish, implement, and improve policies, strategies, and operations that contribute to student success from enrollment, matriculation, orientation, and retention through degree/certificate attainment, career engagement, and transfer

• Implements strategic enrollment management services as directed by the college-wide Vice President of Institutional Research & Enrollment Management, as well as the Campus President

• Leads campus enrollment management team and as a member of the college-wide enrollment management team

• Provides leadership for the design and utilization of facilities to accommodate current and anticipated student service areas

• Ensures implementation of the student discipline procedure on the assigned campus

• Prepares recommendations for budgeting and staffing

• Serves on additional campus and college-wide leadership teams as appointed and requested

• Performs other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Master's Degree

• Minimum of eight years of demonstrated progressively responsible student affairs leadership that includes direct responsibility for comprehensive enrollment management

• Demonstrated successful experience in managing complex organizations involving a variety of internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrated executive experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others

• Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget

• Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have significant, broad implications on the management and operations of a division (or equivalent business area)

• Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of leadership theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

• Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all constituents

• Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

• Doctoral Degree

• Demonstrated experience leading and managing multiple student affairs units at a community college

• Experience working with Hospitality community and industry partners, particularly in the areas of lodging, travel, and tourism

• Demonstrated experience in effectively executing strategic plans

• Demonstrated experience working with a community college

• Demonstrated experience in leading high performing cross-functional teams

• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across a variety of internal and external groups

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Demonstrated ability to partner and establish positive, mutually beneficial relationships with college and community constituents

• Commitment to the District's goal of student success

• Familiarity with the mission and focus of a community college



Work Schedule

Standard College hours of operation, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on business unit needs.
