University of Missouri (MU) Clinical Instructorship - Equine Medicine, Ambulatory and Surgery
MU College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical instructorship in the equine section of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. This opportunity is within an equine section consisting of 6 faculty members, 4 house officers, and 4 technicians. The job description will depend upon the qualifications and interests of the applicant. The successful candidate will demonstrate they are a dedicated team player, with interest in practicing progressive medicine/surgery and a passion for teaching.
Clinical, emergency, and teaching efforts are anticipated to be 80% of total FTE. Remaining time may be devoted to professional development, didactic teaching, and preparation for specialty certification, if applicable. Significant in-house opportunities are available for education including journal clubs, house officer rounds and continuing education events. Teaching activities will include supervision of clinical veterinary students on equine service rotations.

Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional achievement, and the potential for the candidate to work within the framework of the Equine section. Communication skills, experience working effectively in varied environments and letters of reference will all be considered in selection of candidates. Qualifications include:
- Doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (such as VMD, BVSc) and a minimum of 2 years equine practice or completion of a residency in equine medicine or surgery;

- USDA accreditation;
- A valid driver's license.

MU's Veterinary Health Center is a state-of-the-art teaching and medical services facility for companion animals as well as livestock. Columbia, MO is an ideal location for such a teaching hospital.
