Department Overview
The Department of Engineering Technology prepares students to be productive leaders and technology innovators in a global society. The Department is unique in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and it currently serves students pursuing BSET degrees in Construction, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Also, MS students pursuing degrees within the concentrations of Construction Management, Engineering Management, Electrical Systems and Mechanical Systems.

Job Description
The Engineering Technology Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist IV to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Assist the Chair, Office Manager and Faculty in performing a variety of technical duties using standard procedures.
* Responsible for purchasing, scheduling of classes, undergraduate student needs, travel and other items as determined.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and four years of progressively responsible office administration experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Intermediate MS Office skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
* Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
* Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple assignments effectively
* Ability to work on tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
* Knowledge of basic accounting/budgeting procedures.
* Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
* Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Knowledge of UNT student processing.
* Knowledge of UNT travel procedures.
* Familiarity with EIS/Peoplesoft.
* Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
