The UAS instructor will teach participants the mechanics of actually flying a drone and where they can fly them safely within the legal framework of the FAA. The instructor must be knowledgeable about topics related to successfully operating a drone such as FAA regulations, weather, privacy issues, battery maintenance, and various drone applications including use of drones for inspections, geological mapping, aerial photography surveys construction, utilities, pipeline, etc.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to Operate a drone
- Background checks with motor vehicle record search will be required before assignment is finalized.
- Must be an experienced UAS drone operator with professional experience using a UAS.
- Applicants must hold a Remote Pilot License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
