The Biological Sciences Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* work as a key researcher on lab research including mutagenesis and biochemical studies of enzymes.* conduct experiments in consultation with supervisor.* conduct lab maintenance. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with major course work in the field of assignment and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Knowledge of basic scientific techniques and methods used in routine research.* Knowledge of the basic equipment used in field of research.* Knowledge of special equipment in the field of assignment.* Knowledge of health, safety, and security precautions in keeping with type of research being done.* Ability to set up and operate research apparatus and equipment.* Skill in conducting tests and measurements.* Skill in preparing technical reports.
