The mission of the College of Human Ecology is to improve lives by exploring and shaping human connections to natural, social, and built environments. Faculty, students, and staff explore the human dimensions of social and natural sciences, design, nutrition and health, public policy, society, family, community, and other realms-all in pursuit of knowledge to make the world a better place. Using Cornell's far-reaching extension network and the college's translational research methods, we deliver our findings directly to communities and families, ensuring that our work reaches those who need it most.

The College of Human Ecology has an opening for an Assistant/Associate Director of Career Development to join its team of accomplished professionals committed to student development. As a key member of the Admissions, Student, and Career Development team, you will have the opportunity to work directly with undergraduate students, providing academic and career counseling and advising for students in the College of Human Ecology.

Specific responsibilities include: advising students on the curriculum for the college's 8 undergraduate majors, helping them interpret college and university academic policies; help students better understand career paths and opportunities and assist in the coordination of career development and internship/job search services for 1200 undergraduates in the college, including group presentations, workshop development, college-wide and department specific programming; serving as counselor for undergraduates considering medical school and post-graduate study in the health professions; acting as advisor to student group, Pre-professional Association Towards Careers in Health (PATCH); supporting the office supervisor overseeing the Career Exploration Center; acting as office liaison to the Urban Semester program; serving as a member of Human Ecology's Student and Career Development staff; supporting admissions activity, as needed; and contributing to programming for prospective and current students and alumni.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, advising or related field, plus 2 -3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must have strong interpersonal, people, and time management skills, enjoy working with students, and be comfortable with a fast-paced, complex organization. Proven written and oral communication skills a must. Facility with professional office software suites and social media platforms required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Advising, Higher Education Administration, or related field preferred. Career Services/development experience desired.
