We are currently seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

Your mission: Enhance the understanding, perception and image of the college assigned and of HCC with community organizations and the general public.
A typical day: One day, you may focus most of your energy on promoting and supporting an educational or cultural activity that will benefit the college and the community. The next day, you may be asked to represent your college at a community meeting. Other days, you may have more "office time" - gathering information for contacts, developing a community awareness strategy or updating the Director of P.R. on your outreach activities.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, organizational communications or a related field is required.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in marketing, community relations and/or public relations, or a related field required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential
Knowledge of community organizations in the Houston Community College System service area
Knowledge of event planning and organizing desirable
Familiarity with Microsoft Office computer software applications
Ability to interact effectively and deal tactfully with a diverse population
Ability to attend frequent events in the evenings and on weekends
