Duties: Under the supervision of the Institute Director and Director of Fiscal Operations, the Business Administrator in the Institute for Regenerative Medicine is responsible for sponsored program pre- and post-award functions, and day-to-day business operations of the Institute and Department of Cell and Developmental Biology. The Business Administrator's responsibilities include proposal preparation, budget development, transaction approval, monitoring and reporting for investigators in multiple divisions and locations. This position requires frequent and professional communication with multiple business offices. The Business Administrator is also responsible for providing business administrative support for the Institute, and its Cores and programs.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Grants and contracts administration/business administration experience, particularly in a University setting required. Knowledge of University of Pennsylvania sponsored research guidelines and policies preferred, as well as general accounting practices. Strong skills in spreadsheet, database and word processing software preferred. Experience in BEN Financials, UMIS and Business Objects extremely helpful. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, to be flexible and contribute positively to a dynamic business environment.
