Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will manage the day to day operations of the Grandma's Kids after-school program in two schools in North Philadelphia. The program involves academic enrichment, tutorial, life skills training, mentoring and counseling for school students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. The Program Coordinator will recruit students to participate in program, prepare and maintain client files and complete all data entry on DHS database, coordinate parent engagement and community meetings as required, and act as the primary liaison to school personnel, community providers and parents. S/he will develop and maintain academic and culturally relevant after school curriculum including lesson plans, coordinate and attend all field trips and special events, and arrange extracurricular activities and guest presenters. This candidate will hire, train and monitor the activities of all program staff ��� paid and volunteer, and will provide staff with professional development training. The Program Coordinator will also prepare for audits and submit all audit reports, complete required program reporting and assist in grant application. Hours for this position are Mondays through Fridays from 9am ��� 6:00pm. However, evening hours/ weekends and other hours could be required based on the needs of the program. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human services related field and at least two (2) years related work experience that includes program coordination and planning, multiple staff supervision, and working with budgets and families in urban school districts. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
*Must be able to obtain ACT 33 child abuse clearance and state and federal FBI clearances.
*Must be able to travel between Grandma's Kids program sites daily.
*Strong supervisory skills and ability to monitor the work of others and provide feedback to ensure compliance.
*Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills. *Ability to respond to emails, phone calls and texts on a daily basis.
*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with school personnel, community partners and parents.
*Must be detailed oriented and complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
*Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
*Ability to be highly flexible and work in a diverse and dynamic environments.
*Ability to work Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. Preferred:
*Master's degree
