Primary Function of Organization Unit: Industry Expansion Solutions (IES) is a major component of the State's economic development operation by diffusing engineering, science, knowledge and technology to North Carolina industry, business, and public agencies for the enhancement of quality, productivity, and environmental protection. This is accomplished by utilizing professional education and technical assistance that meet the needs of business, industry, and healthcare professionals. Advocating the use of engineering science and technology through best practices promotes corporate growth and the creation of quality products and services. The Professional Learning unit of the Industrial Extension Service helps adult program participants maintain competencies and gain valuable new skills to accelerate career growth and improved business performance.
Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for the daily operations required to integrate and align resource development and new product development activities for IES. Assists with supporting multiple projects, coordinating activities between multiple committees and individuals, and new product development processes to meet project goals. Supports the development of strategic partnerships. The duties are focused in the new productt development and will include but are not limited to: *Implement efficient project management processes to coordinate projects and tasks. *Assist with the identification of needed resources for projects and to inform strategic goals. *Coordinate new product development processes and project plans to include scope, budget, and deliverables. *Coordinate tasks among team members including inter-departmental, client, and contracted subject matter experts to meet project milestones. *Responsible for the daily activities of integrated project plans. *Deliver informational presentations to stake-holder groups. *Provide advice and counsel, based on knowledge of client programs, organization and culture. *Identify relationships across the organization and external partners to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
Department Required Skills: *Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or similar software. *Superior customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with clients. *Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. *Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. *Understanding of entry-level research and needs assessment techniques. *Must be detail-orientated and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: *Experience in performing fundamental market research. *Experience with an instructional design and development process; particularly needs assessment and evaluation. *Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and client relationship building. *Experience managing students and/or temporary staff.
