Duties: The Department of Surgery is recruiting a Senior Research Investigator to establish and manage the Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) Research Program under the direction of Dr. Ronald DeMatteo with a goal of optimizing the use of immune therapy with molecular therapy to achieve better oncologic outcomes. The Research Investigator Senior will be responsible for the design of the translational/basic science experiments to test hypotheses related to cancer signaling and oncogenesis. The candidate will have a leadership role and will be responsible for the supervision of all lab staff. The candidate will be independent, self-driven, organized, and possess excellent managerial and scientific writing skills. The candidate should be proficient in independent paper and grant writing. The highly qualified candidate will have excellent opportunities for growth, independence and teaching in a dynamic lab.

Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. PhD or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience are required.
