The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Coordinating Producer, ACC Network to support the Athletics Video Services unit.
The ACC Network Coordinating Producer position exists to fulfill the Athletics Department's production requirements for ACC Network productions and to create studio content to support the Network and UVA Video Services unit. The Department of Athletics uses audio and visual mediums extensively in an effort to broadcast information to satisfy conference production requirements, to enhance public awareness and interest in our sports programs, and to create a dynamic game environment. Responsibilities include: providing exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies; serving as production coordinator for all ACC Network events, serving as the producer and / or director for ACC Network events, developing a strong freelance talent pool, training UVA students in many phases of broadcast production, utilizing technology to enhance the recruiting efforts of Virginia Athletics, and ensuring adherence to NCAA, ACC, and University policies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to utilize standard principles of broadcast production. Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in live event production, video editing, camera work, sports terminology, and sports writing. Ability to convey information, and/or plans clearly in written format. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in interactions with all UVA and Athletics Department staff, outside community including fans, visitors, the ACC, ESPN, prospective students, parents, and other constituencies. Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to supervise staff. Ability to present a professional demeanor and maintain confidentiality while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service. Must be able to accommodate overtime, including working irregular hours (nights/weekends) when necessary.
