Post-Doctoral Fellow

Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Trauma and Shock Coagulation and Inflammation Laboratory. A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Mitchell Cohen MD, in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. The Cohen laboratory works on coagulation and inflammation perturbations after severe injury (trauma) and shock. Our lab utilizes translational (Clinical, in vitro, in vivo (animal) and in silico (modeling) approaches to understand the response to trauma and resuscitative practices aimed at saving lives. Recent studies have focused on the effects of trauma on coagulation, ideal resuscitation practices, platelet biology, endothelial biology after injury and in siclico modeling of biological systems and predictive physiology.



The successful candidate must be a highly-motivated and career-oriented person with, a PhD and experience in immunology, microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry or a closely related field. He/she should have experience working with animal models and/or human specimens and basic molecular biology and cell culture skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills (English fluency) are also required. The ability to work independently and in collaboration is essential. Qualified applicants should have multiple first-author research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
