The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (GES) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Physical-Environmental Geography, to begin in August, 2018. We seek applicants with a specialization in climate change, with areas of interest including mountain systems, soils, hazards, and/or fluvial systems. The candidate will teach a combination of introductory and advanced courses, including Environmental Systems: Climate and Vegetation and/or Environmental Systems: Landforms and Soils. Candidates must have a PhD in geography or related discipline and must maintain an active research agenda. We seek a candidate to foster cross-campus collaborations and make connections between the university and the regional community. The GES department has a suite of geospatial software and lab facilities, collegial and productive faculty, approximately 230 undergraduate majors and 20 MA students, and a setting near the base of Pikes Peak that offers many opportunities for geographic research.
