Position Information
This position is responsible for the coordination of our programming calendar, student employment and student design center. This position will focus on cultivating and executing high-quality programming to compliment the overall services of the Highlander Union Building. Additionally, the successful candidate will supervise up to twenty student employees and be responsible for their training, supervision and development.

Minimum Requirements
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.
Knowledge and sensistivity of providing holistic support to the foster youth student population with a strong understanding of the resources and services available,
Knowledge of the methodologies used to enhance student achievement
Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
Knowledge of the trends, characteristics and issues facing diverse student populations in particular as they relate to foster youth, low income and first generation college, underrepresented, disadvantaged and under-prepared students in higher education.
Interpersonal skills.
Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
Knowledge of how to enhance students' intellectual and personal growth and development
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines for foster youth including current legislation related to financial options available for foster youth students.
Knowledge and experience in researching, compiling and analyzing data, and generating reports
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.

Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Understanding of University rules and regulations.
