Position Overview

Coordinate the logistics of events such as conferences, seminars, special promotions, programs, camps, and/or direct mail campaigns. Organize events and programs from the conception to clean-up; to include schedule staff, catering, contracts, venue and layout. Plan and administer events following budget guidelines and requests. Assist in evaluating the program and give information to leadership.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Coordinates adapted sports programs and events; this includes, but is not limited to, UCO Endeavor Games, Adventure Therapy, Olympic and Paralympic functions and annual fundraising events.

Assumes primary responsibility for Oklahoma Adaptive Sports Association and Paralympic Sport Club partnerships.

Responsible for working with national organizations including Adaptive Sports USA, Disabled Sports USA, and sport specific National Governing Bodies to ensure proper execution of UCO Endeavor Games sports.

Responsible for facilitating the online sport registration system for the UCO Endeavor Games.

Assumes primary responsibility for the UCO Endeavor Games budget.

Secures all support staff for events and maintains inventory of event equipment.

Responsible for implementing creative marketing ideas to increase participation and awareness for events.

Oversees and manages Endeavor Games Series website and social media outlets.

Facilitates the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student staff and interns.

Ensures facilities, equipment and materials are acquired, maintained, and in good working order.

Attends regular meetings, participates in ongoing trainings, assists with program trainings and works regularly scheduled maintenance days.

Light travel will be required for trade shows and promotion of the UCO Endeavor Games and Endeavor Games Series.

Work 40 hours per week, as scheduled by supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Requires a university degree in related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in chosen filed that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Undergraduate degree in sport management or recreation management.

Master's degree preferred.

2+ years in event/sport management and/or 2+ years working with special populations or adaptive sports.

Current Certification in CPR.

Valid Oklahoma Driver's License.


Must demonstrate analytical, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task, organize and implement several projects simultaneously.

Must have the ability to speak with many diverse cultures and organizations.

The ability to operate computers and software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Ability to work nights/weekends when necessary.

Ability to travel occasionally.

This position requires the successful candidate to maintain a smart phone on which to receive telephone calls, email, and SMS messages from participants and authorized university personnel.
