Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Partner will play a critical role in the development and delivery of strategic sourcing and recruitment capability with the aim of attracting top talent to Northeastern University.

The Talent Acquisition Partner will work with faculty and staff from their assigned areas to determine organizational needs and act as a talent advisor, providing direction and services designed to attract, source, recruit and hire exceptional employees. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the university is hiring the best possible diverse workforce, utilizing a variety of means such as developing local, national and international recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies, as well as developing new and creative recruiting tactic.

As a first point of contact for prospective candidates, the Talent Acquisition Partner will serve as an ambassador for Northeastern, ensuring that the university's mission and vision are shared accurately and persuasively, and that each candidate is provided with an optimal experience.

This individual will understand the overall university's needs as it relates to staffing and keep in mind not only the positions for which they are actively sourcing/recruiting, but also current openings in other departments and potential future vacancies university-wide.

S/he will work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team and HR Business Partners to deliver unified solutions and services, and may be called upon to provide coverage to other team members when those teammates are away from the office and/or, when necessary, support recruitment efforts in departments/colleges other than those to which they are assigned.

A successful candidate for this role will have experience managing the full cycle recruitment process. S/he must be willing to build relationships with community partners and professional organizations, which may sometimes require work after business hours. S/he must have experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and be able to manage various conflicting deadlines in an environment in which they will be asked to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders.


Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or professional certification(s) are preferred
•Minimum of five years of professional level recruiting experience
•Flexibility and adaptability, particularly as it relates to communication styles and organizational change management
•Fluency in web-based recruiting tools and social media recruitment best practices
•The ability to leverage applicant tracking system functionality in a way that streamlines processes and positively impacts candidate experience
•Experience in a metrics-driven recruitment environment, and a fearlessness when it comes to analyzing data, developing reports and suggesting solutions
•Proven experience in providing quality candidates for mid to senior level positions with a focus on pipeline development and the sourcing of passive candidates
•Deep acumen of Human Resources processes and systems, as well as legal compliance and employment law
•Excellent planning, time management, decision-making, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills
•Strong writing and verbal communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to collaborate and drive results
•Knowledge of the Boston area labor market is a plus, as is experience in higher education
•Familiarity with PeopleAdmin is desirable, but not required
