The Nursing Supervisor is a leadership position with direct and indirect patient care responsibilities at University Health Services
(UHS), the student health service at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This position, working in collaboration with other clinic
managers, is expected to develop systems of care which foster continuity of patient care, optimal outcomes for patient health,
and a successful health care team environment. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-AAAHC (Accreditation Association) standards.
The primary responsibility of this position is directing the daily clinical activities/operations for UHS Specialty Clinics. The position directly supervises 4 nurse clinicians, 2 medical assistants and student employees. Clinic staff include nurse clinicians, nurse
practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, registered dieticians, residents physicians, and medical/health professional
This position will also provide direct patient care at the advanced nurse clinician level. The position requires strong leadership
and communication skills, experience in directing support staff and an excellent knowledge base of primary care nursing and
clinical care. Direct experience with and knowledge of college and adolescent health care is important. Duties are performed
under the general supervision of, and the position reports to the Medical Director.
