Advertised Job Summary
The Human Resources Assistant will assist with the human resources operations of the College of Arts and Sciences, by providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources. Duties may include generating offer and reappointment letters, making photocopies of various documents, filing, conducting research to process, complete, and submit various HR actions, updating various spreadsheets, etc. Will review documents for accuracy and forward to the appropriate University Offices for final approval. Will assist the Director in reviewing and approving various human resources actions, including but not limited to, creating, updating, and/or reviewing position descriptions, reviewing and approving job requisitions, processing new hire documents, reviewing and processing dual appointments, processing and submitting resignations, and retirements. Will oversee the College's EPMS processes annually and advise units, as needed, on the required procedures and paperwork. Must be willing to contribute to the overall success of the College by performing other related duties as required or assigned by the Director and/or Dean of the College.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce is a must. Must have writing skills sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully. Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions. Work requires initiative and independent judgment. Must be proactive and creative, identifying process improvement opportunities. Ability to possess thorough knowledge of University Policy and Procedures.
