The Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy at the University of South Carolina is inviting applications for a tenured or tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in August 2018.
The DPT program at the University of South Carolina (www.sph.sc.edu/dpt) is a fully-accredited entry-level program that is housed within the nationally recognized Department of Exercise Science in the Arnold School of Public Health. The small class size of 30 students allows faculty to creatively use a wide variety of learning approaches while also allowing substantial time for scholarly activity.
The University of South Carolina is a Carnegie University of High Research Activity and of Community Engagement. Located in the capital city of Columbia, the University is comprehensive with five Health Sciences colleges that include the Arnold School of Public Health, School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and College of Social Work. The Arnold School is composed of six departments and several research Institutes and Centers. The Department of Exercise Science offers BS, MS, MPH, ATC, DPT, and PhD degrees and the Department's PhD program has been ranked among the top programs of its kind in the U.S. The Department currently serves over 1200 undergraduate and 150 graduate students.Required Education and Experience
Successful candidates must have an earned terminal doctoral degree in a rehabilitation related field, a research agenda commiserate with the aims of the department and institution, and the ability to teach within the entry-level DPT program. The successful candidate will: conduct and disseminate independent, nationally/internationally recognized research, participate in the solicitation of external grant funding, teach in the entry-level DPT and post-professional PhD programs, mentor PhD and DPT students, and participate in professional, university, and community service.Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral training and a degree in physical therapy with eligibility for licensure in South Carolina are preferred.
