This is a professional administrative position providing leadership and oversight for designated operational and management activities within the UNTHSC Clinical Practice Group doing business as UNTHealth. The VPCO assumes a key leadership role in patient care delivery system development and operations across the clinical enterprise, collaborating effectively with physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, nurses, technician and other non-clinical support staff. As a strategic partner, this position formulates partnerships across the UNTHSC schools and colleges to actualize UNTHSC "One University" interprofessional clinical practice for faculty, trainees, students and UNT Health patients. Using value-based leadership and inclusive contemporary approaches, the VPCO will help support UNT Health's successful transformation from fee-for-service to value-based care, medical home, team-based care, population management, and innovative payment models. This position reports to the UNT Health President/Chief Medical Officer and provides leadership and focus to assigned departments and staff leaders to align them with operational and strategic goals of UNT Health and the approved business and financial plans of UNTHSC. This position is responsible for daily frontline P&L management of the UNT Health Clinical Service Cost Centers that support the educational departments and faculty practice of the UNTHSC schools and colleges. The VPCO serves as an important member of the clinical enterprise leadership team, collaborating with Department Chairs, Deans, administrators and finance leaders on clinical operations, population health, provider relations, patient experience, quality, safety, business model design, payment/product and reimbursement initiatives.The UNT Health Administration Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a VP Clinical Operations to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Responsible for operational and management activities in the following areas within the Clinical Practice Group: operations, budget planning and management, strategic planning, project management, facility interfaces, as well as internal and external communications.* Recommends, develops and implements new programmatic initiatives for assigned departments.* Creates programs that enhance patient safety and patient engagement.* Ensures that all areas meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, Texas Medical Board, Board of Nursing, NCQA, TJC, URAC, etc.* Discharges these responsibilities consistent with the mission statement goals and objectives of UNTHSC.* Continually evaluates potential programs and services to meet community need and to respond to physician and health system desire to provide a full spectrum of services to the communities we serve.* Problems encountered are often of a high complexity and require a broad knowledge of healthcare and healthcare administration, business planning, fiscal management, and academic integration. A high degree of analytical ability and creativity are required to independently analyze and evaluate information and then develop specific work plans that achieve the goals and objectives of UNTHSC.
