The Institute of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Assist PI to study physiological and pathological relevance of Ca2+ channels in renal cells.* Investigate the implication of dysfunction of a specific Ca2+ signaling pathway in the development of diabetic kidney disease.* Manage the PI's lab.* Take purchase order.* Cell culture.* Keeping and updating lab inventories for chemicals, biological/molecular reagents/kits, and instruments.* Performing electrophysiological experiments.* Helping PI and other research fellows in the lab in animal studies.* Performing/helping other research fellows in assessment of renal function and histology.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
