Assistant Professor, Applied Mathematics (Tenure-Track)
The Department of Mathematics at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position in applied mathematics beginning Fall 2018. Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and must have demonstrated experience successfully working with diverse student populations. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate an ability to teach courses in differential equations and/or statistics. We are particularly interested in candidates with strengths that would reinforce our working relationship with our School of Engineering & Computer Science, as well as other departments within the Natural Sciences Division. Candidates should be able to involve undergraduates in research projects or experiential learning. The position carries a teaching load of five courses per year (3/2 semester load). In addition to teaching, Pacific faculty are expected to maintain an active research program.
