Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment, and working closely with the Senior Director of EMSA/PAN Finance Operations, the Budget Analyst manages the portfolio of Enrollment Management operational and restricted account budgets. The Budget Analyst manages multiple budget indexes and reviews monthly expenditures and projections with the Associate Vice President, the Senior Director and various department heads. The Analyst identifies and resolves budget related issues, maintains expense controls, ensures appropriateness and accuracy of expenditures, ensures the completion of budget reconciliation and conforms to all University policy and procedures.
The Budget Analyst pays invoices and requests requisitions/purchase orders. The Budget Analyst tracks payments and keeps staff updated on status of budget accounts.
The Budget Analyst serves as point of contact for the division to the Budget Office, University Accounting and on all fiscal related matters.
Working with staff across the Enrollment Management division, the Budget Analyst advises, trains and monitors compliance with budget and Concur procedures within University and divisional policy.
Working with managers across the Enrollment Management division, the Budget Analyst ensures that all expense reports in Concur are accurately submitted with correct account codes and all required receipts.
The Budget Analyst manages contracts and works closely with divisional managers/staff to ensure appropriate contract, back up and documentation is in place when submitting contracts to the Senior Director for processing. The Budget Analyst negotiates and conducts comparison of vendor services and pricing and ensures that vendors are paid in timely manner and credit relationships are maintained.
The Budget Analyst participates in quarterly financial reviews with Senior Director and unit managers to review expenses projections for the fiscal year.
The Budget Analyst manages the annual budget process including the tracking of all budget allocations and the set-up of accounts.
The Budget Analyst meets annually with the Enrollment Management leadership team to review current and future expenses as well as operating budget needs to create annual operating budget requests.
The Budget Analyst assists in managing the process for annual salary increases and performs/presents statistical analysis on merit, bonus, or market adjustment scenarios for the annual merit program as requested.
The Budget Analyst works collaboratively with staff across Enrollment Management, Student Affairs and Professional Advancement Network and participates in projects and performs tasks that align with overall University goals.
Bachelor’s degree required. Must be professional, mature and have a minimum of three years of customer service experience and 2-5 years of budget experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong multi-tasking and time management skills, customer service focused and comfort interfacing with a diverse community are all required. Strong attention to detail and follow through skills are essential as well as flexibility, a positive attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while handling multiple priorities are requirements of this job. Proficiency in Banner Finance and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
The office is extremely busy and requires an individual with proven experiences in handling confidential materials, multi-tasking, and handling sensitive situations in a calm, thoughtful and professional manner. Must be able to manage deadlines and has a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across units.
