Faculty - Lecturer - Concurrent Enrollment Collaborating Liaison

Summary:
The Utah Valley University Department of Mathematics invites applicants to apply for a Lecturer/Concurrent Enrollment Collaborating Liaison. The successful candidate will have a one course teaching load, teaching courses offered as concurrent enrollment. As the Concurrent Enrollment Collaborating Liaison, this position will mentor and assess all under qualified CE teachers; be responsible for proctored exams for all under qualified CE teachers; and approve the final determination of grades for all CE course with under qualified CE teachers. This is a non-tenure track faculty position.

Required Qualifications:
Minimal Qualifications include a M.S. or M.A. in Mathematics /Math Education with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in mathematics and two years successful teaching experience at an institute of higher education or high school mathematics.

Demonstration of teaching excellence (by previous evaluations or teaching demonstration

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Computer skills, including knowledge of email, spreadsheets, LMS systems (Canvas), and math related software (Maple, Mathematica, SAGE open source).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of math specific pedagogy.
Working knowledge of high school math pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years teaching experience as a CE teacher.

Physical Requirements:
The position will require driving to service area high schools to work with the CE teachers.

Physically be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time while teaching.
