Position Summary

Serves as the Medicaid Enhancement Reimbursement (MER) Physician Adjuster Program Manager for the college’s Access to Care Program, (Physician Adjuster and Specialty Network Access Fee programs)  providing outreach support for the College of Osteopathic Medicine; responsible for contracting with hospitals and  medical groups to increase access for Medicaid enrollees within guidelines imposed by the State; tracks and troubleshoots problems with payments; and provides administrative support for the staff in preparing vouchers, encumbrances, processing invoices and refunds, data entry and identifying documentation to support expenses. Interacts regularly with MSUCOM Business Office and Statewide Campus System staff, administrators in other MSU colleges, University administration, State of Michigan officials, and administrators across the state from organizations involved with a statewide consortium, and community organizations as necessary.

Required Degree

Masters -Health Care/Business or related field.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a master’s degree program in a healthcare related field or a business-related degree; more than five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in health care quality or Medicaid or other third party payer program management; knowledge and/or experience with health care policy; experience with budget preparation;experience analyzing data for trends and variances; experience with wordprocessing, spreadsheet, and database software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in positions that document the ability to work independently, solve complex problems successfully, negotiate through conflict, and build relationships with multiple stakeholders; strong project management and analytical skills; ability to navigate complex organizations effectively; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
