SPACE AND PROJECTS COORDINATOR
Duties: The Space and Projects Coordinator will oversee three major functions for the School of Arts & Sciences Facilities Planning & Operations group: Space Database process upkeep and Administration, Project coordination for non-capital projects, and both project and non-project furniture coordination. The space coordination function will entail annual updating and maintaining the SAS Space database system as detailed in the SAS Space Audit Process. The coordinator will analyze existing graphical and database systems and work with Building Administrators, Project Managers, FRES, and others to update the files as needed. The incumbent will evaluate and refine processes and organization of space information management for the School.
The project coordination function manages and implements a number of interior renovation, finish, and fit-out projects for The School. This requires the incumbent to follow established processes in the SAS FPO Project Management Guide. The position will meet with end users, identify and develop program requirements, develop biddable documents as necessary, as well as execute and close out these projects.
The furniture coordination function will include (in collaboration with other SAS FPO design staff) management of the non-project furniture request system, which takes requests for furniture repair or replacement from members of the school. The furniture coordinator will then work with the requestor to identify the requirements and funding for the project, and specifies, orders, and coordinates installation of furniture from a variety of vendors used by the school.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Background in interior design/ architecture or facilities management is required. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft office, AutoCad/ Adobe suite, have strong organizational skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously. Strong professional communication skills and references are preferred.
