Appointment:

The University of Puget Sound seeks an instructor to teach individual non-credit music lessons. This is a part-time, adjunct teaching position. The schedule may include instruction in the evenings and weekends. This position is on-going and renewable annually.

Responsibilities:

Teach individual weekly lessons to students of diverse ages enrolled in the Community Music Department. Organize and main-tain a consistent teaching schedule. Prepare lesson plans. Keep a record of teaching hours and report hours to the Community Music Department once a month.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree is the minimum requirement, advanced degrees preferred. Musical expertise and successful prior teaching expe-rience required. Performance experience and a high level of playing proficiency necessary. Ability to communicate musical concepts and to demon-strate playing techniques to people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Must have a strong commitment to teaching and a genuine interest in the musical development of individual students.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
