Job Description

The services of a Statistician is required to carry out the review of analytical data based on principles of Statistical Process Control, format data for submission to the client, as well as prepare written reports in the format appropriate to the needs of the Laboratory and/or client. The candidate will also be required to utilize exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques (linear and non-linear regression, ANOVA, etc.), design experiments for Laboratory and/or external client use, design and develop computer programs (Visual Basic, Powerbuilder) for process automation.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Mathematics with courses in statistics. Additional course(s) in Statistical Process Control, chemistry, biology or biostatistics would be an asset. A strong knowledge of various statistical tools such as regression, ANOVA, data modeling, experimental design, etc. is also required along with an excellent command of the English language, attention to detail, extensive experience with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint and Visual Basic would be a definite asset. Previous experience with various statistical software programs, an ability to learn quickly and to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision is critical. This position also requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to bring innovative approaches to data presentation and analyses as well as an ability to prepare and present project reports to scientists and scientific conferences.
