Assistant Professor Position in Public Administration or Public Policy
The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications and nominations for two (2) tenure-stream faculty positions at the assistant professor level in public policy or public administration. Both appointments begin Fall term 2018 (authorizations pending). A PhD in public policy, public administration, public management, or social science field (political science, sociology, economics, or related field) is expected at the time of the appointment. Successful candidates will have research and teaching interests related to public administration, public policy and/or public management, broadly defined. The area of specialization is open, but candidates are expected to teach in the school and MPA program core, as well as within their substantive policy or management areas of research. Evidence of a promising research agenda leading to high quality publications in any of the wide variety of topics related to public administration and public policy is essential.
Review of applications will begin November 1, 2017, and continue until the positions are filled. Candidates who would enhance the diversity of the school, including women and minorities, are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualified applicants can submit their materials online through email attachments (see email address below). Submitted materials should include a letter of application describing the applicant’s research and teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, two samples of scholarly writing, three letters of recommendation, and teaching evaluations.
