The Center to Promote Effective Youth Development (Youth-Nex) in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for multiple part-time positions. The Research Coordinator (Wage) position works with subjects/students enrolled in an Institute of Educational Services research project being conducted within participating public school systems in Maryland. Incumbents work approximately 8 to 12 weeks in the fall of 2017 and the spring of 2018. Duties include scheduling and completing computerized classroom observations and administering, scoring and coding achievement tests. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between schools in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Prince Georges County or other participating school systems as needed.


An Associate's degree or equivalent coursework is required. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Exceptional organization skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Ability to use and troubleshoot technology, including video cameras, laptops and tablets is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience working with school-age youth in a school setting.

These are at-will wage positions that do not carry benefits.
