Duties: The Recruiting Relationship Manager (RRM) serves as the primary contact to companies for all aspects of recruiting and manages an average of over 100 corporate relationships. The RRM works closely with MBACM advisor(s) as part of industry teams that meet with professional student clubs and identify companies to target for recruiting. The RRM has the responsibility of developing and strengthening employer relationships through corporate outreach (including some domestic and international travel) and educating employers on best practices in order to develop their recruiting strategy.
The RRM oversees planning and implementation of, on average, over 2600 MBA interview schedules a year (including the Focused Recruiting Period) and organizes, markets, and attends corporate presentations. In this role, the RRM regularly contributes new ideas and/or suggestions on how to improve existing recruiting processes, including management of the online recruiting system utilized by all recruiters and students.
The RRM provides input and information for planning each upcoming recruiting year, analyzes and recommends policy changes related to the recruiting process as part of an office team, solicits student and employer feedback through various means, such as surveys and focus groups, and develops and executes communication strategies to stakeholders along with senior administration.
The RRM interacts with students by serving as school liaison on student-led treks and conferences, as well as special events such as the Global Immersion Program or alumni conferences. The RRM also educates students and fellow MBACM staff on industry hiring trends and the recruiting process through presentations and development of written material.
The RRM hires, trains and co-supervises assistants responsible for handling recruiting administration and technology needs at corporate presentations on campus. The RRM leads and/or participates in various employer projects and events (such as the annual Recruiters' Guide publication, Employer Advisory Board meetings, and Networking Expos) as well as student programming offered by the MBACM office. The RRM identifies opportunities for collaboration with other departments at Wharton and the University, including faculty, research centers, industry-based initiatives/programs, external affairs, and executive education.
This position reports to the Sr. Associate Director, Employer Services with a dotted reporting line to specific Sr. Associate Directors (Career Advisors) covering the industries assigned to this role.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of three to five years of prior work experience in MBA recruiting services or direct industry experience is preferred. A strong customer service mentality and client management skills including solid presentation and outstanding inter-personal skills as well as ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of team in order to support both students and employers. A solid understanding of career development and recruiting process or related areas in either business or in an academic setting. Good knowledge of business and business careers along with strong written and oral communication skills. Highly skilled at using PC-based systems/applications and prior experience with internet based research. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills desired. Must be flexible and respect confidentiality.
