Department Overview
The Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC) invites applications for the position of Library Associate Director. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill this position, which is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a busy unit with 14 professional librarians and an equal number of support staff.

Located in Fort Worth, Texas, UNTHSC is a growing institution dedicated to training tomorrow's healthcare providers and researchers. Lewis Library serves all parts of the institution, including the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, School of Public Health, and UNT System School of Pharmacy.

Of special note, Lewis Library recently assumed responsibility for the provision of library services to the JPS Health Network, including the local county hospital and its robust system of community-based clinics. Another distinguishing feature of our library is that it has long maintained a strong outreach and community engagement program, employing a full-time Outreach Librarian since the early 1980s. Also, Lewis Library began serving as the host of the Regional Medical Library for the South Central Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine in May 2016.
