Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Principle Investigator the applicant will conduct research aimed at examining the effects of plant products such as resveratrol, indoles, and cannabinoids on inflammation, autoimmunity, cancer and examines the role of CD44, estrogens and dioxins on immune response. Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory experiments and present them in laboratory discussions, meetings, scientific symposia, and publications. Routinely advise principal investigators, students, and other laboratory personnel on current methods, ongoing experiments, and future research directions.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Requires a PhD in Biology including Immunology, Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or other related discipline. Expertise in Immunology with knowledge of -omics technology.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Should have knowledge of hazards of laboratory activities and related safety practices, skill in setting up, care and use of laboratory equipment, and ability to develop and assist with development of new and improved methodology. Required to conduct research activities lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
