The Gibson D. Lewis Library at the UNT Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Associate Director to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Supervises Librarians responsible for and assists with managing a range of library operations, including but not limited to acquisitions, cataloging, serials, reference, instruction, clinical support, outreach, access services, and digital/technology services. * Assists with the human resources management program of the library and oversees the national recruitment, retention, and development of librarians and staff, including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, re-classifications, training, and discipline.* Determines library budget priorities in collaboration with the Library Director and others, and authorizes expenditures in the Director's absence.* Resolves operational and service issues as they arise, both alone and in consultation with the Library Director.* Coordinates workflows and aligns staff assignments according to service needs and library priorities. * Works closely with professional colleagues to support library initiatives. * Partners with various departments, including IT, Facilities, Public Safety, and Student Affairs to ensure core public services at the library meet patrons' needs.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
