Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Immersive Professional Learning and Special Programs, the Social Impact Professional Programs Manager is accountable for the administration, logistics, organization, recruiting, publicity, and partner relationships for MIIS' flagship "Frontier Market Scouts" certificate and fellowship program. The manager supervises Graduate Assistants, coordinates the matching of FMS training participants with field placement partners, maintains effective information systems and databases related to the program, and works with a GSIPM faculty lead who is accountable for FMS training curriculum quality and faculty recruitment/oversight. An important aspect of the position is to protect and enhance the FMS brand in the social impact/impact investing space, in collaboration with the GSIPM faculty lead and Director of Immersive Professional Learning. The position is a half-time one-year agreement (possible extension beyond one year contingent on funding).

Essential Functions:
• Manage applications and recruiting including but not limited to individual prospective student outreach and advising, ongoing applicant data tracking systems, review and selection process, as well as participant intake, which includes international student services support.
• Manage and coordinate training program recruitment (advertising, promotions, communication with potential participants) and logistics.
• Design and manage the full life cycle of the fellowship matching process and individual consultations required with fellowship participants from sourcing opportunities, matching candidates, and outreach to FMS fellows while they are in the field.
• Manage cross-departmental communications (facilities, events, international student services, communications, media services, etc.). This includes all events and staffing planning and oversight during 2-week intensive certificate training.
• Implement and evaluate targeted multi-platform marketing/recruiting plans for the FMS program to meet program sustainability targets, in collaboration with MIIS' Marketing staff

General Responsibilities:
• Other duties as assigned.

• A Bachelor in business, public relations, marketing, communications or related field.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills and the capacity to interact effectively with a variety of clients including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers.
• Ability to plan, organize and assess projects in an effective and timely manner.
• Initiative and the capacity to work with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment.
• Passion and competence to undertake both internal and external networking.
• Ability to supervise part-time GA staff.
• High emotional and cultural intelligence.
• Demonstrated proficiency in marketing.
• High degree of technological skills required, especially MS Office proficiency including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to comply with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates.

  • Two years of experience in professional development program management.
Physical Demands:
The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey maintains a drug-free and smoke-free workplace.
Essential job functions require ability to sit for extended periods of time, walk, bend, climb, push/pull, left and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally. Also requires fine dexterity and ability to grasp, i.e., for writing messages and word processing.
