Vice President of Student Affairs
Stockton University, one of the nation’s fastest growing public universities and recognized for its commitment to student-centered education, seeks an energetic, experienced and visionary leader to serve as Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA.) Reporting to President Harvey Kesselman and serving as a member of his cabinet, the Vice President will lead a staff of over 125 employees and engage in strengthening a vibrant and future-oriented student affairs division which includes responsibility for the strategic enrollment functions of the University.
Building on Stockton’s strong tradition as a student-centered university, the Vice President will bring deep knowledge of best practices in student affairs and enrollment management, creative and innovative thinking, and an appreciation for the essential link between diversity and excellence. The successful candidate will have significant leadership experience in student affairs and/or enrollment management, and a particular interest in and commitment to working in partnership with faculty and academic affairs colleagues. The Vice President will have served in progressively more demanding supervisory and administrative positions, and will embrace the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of a growing University. The Vice President will demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the relationship between academic and co-curricular engagement; play a leadership role in broad strategic enrollment management efforts; and demonstrate a willingness to consider new possibilities for Student Affairs at Stockton University. The Vice President will possess the diplomacy and leadership skills to work effectively with a well-functioning team in student affairs and to invest in the professional development of a talented and committed staff. An earned doctorate is preferred; however, candidates with a depth of experience in the field and appropriate professional credentials will be given full consideration. A Master’s degree is required.
