Job Purpose
Towson University's Office of Sponsored Programs and Research seeks a dedicated and energetic Sponsored Programs Specialist to join its team. The Sponsored Programs Specialist position supports the sponsored programs office, assisting with all aspects of the office's operations.

This position provides support to all aspects of the University's sponsored programs operations. Primary duties include such tasks as developing a newsletter, responding to and directing inquiries to appropriate personnel, conducting funding searches, and supporting pre-and post-award staff with the preparation of proposals, management of grant awards and compliance requirements. The Specialist also oversees basic office functions including managing the department's budget, responding to inquiries, coordinating meetings, ordering supplies, and maintaining operations.

Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative experience. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with government grants preferred. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

Salary and Benefits
$38,204 annually with University benefits including annual leave, holidays, personal and sick days; tuition remission; and excellent health, life, and retirement plans. Applicants with TU or USM service may receive salary credit. To learn more about our benefits, click here.
