This position is with the University Business Administrators Program located within the department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science in the College of Arts & Science.
Serves as the Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science (EOAS) Human Resources Transactional Representative. Gathers information from a variety of sources to compile HR appointments each semester. Processes all personnel actions for EOAS employees including recruiting, hiring, I-9 submissions, job opening packets, reappointments and terminations for all Graduate Assistants in OMNI and Guardian. Responsible for creating the Graduate Assistant offer letters in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Monitors and tracks HR transactions. Assists with regular workflow status updates and advises staff and supervisors regarding the status of HR transactions. Assist new and returning employees with appointment procedures and ensures all new employees are added to email mailing lists. Calculates compensation for OPS employees and maintains a database of OPS appointments for reconciling purposes. Serves as the Liaison to the Global Engagement Center regarding the appointment of international employees. Serves as backup to the front desk.
Monitors time entry status and assists with the facilitation of corresponding employee-supervisor time entry, review, and approval process to ensure accuracy and compliance with University standards. Uses myFSU Business Intelligence (BI) to cyclically generate HR actives and cost center reports to reconcile appointments and compensation levels. Prepares payroll certification document and actives report for management review. Maintains Department personnel files in compliance with Federal, State and University laws, policies and guidelines. Corrects payroll and funding errors as necessary.
Responsible for entering and monitoring Non Exempt FACET functions for the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science. Back up for Exempt FACET. Serves as backup for Faculty Appointments and personnel actions.
May assist EOAS Chair in absence of Administrative Associate, supervise OPS staff and other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency and four years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
Experience demonstrating effective customer service skills.
Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience to compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resource administration in assigned area.
Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
Anticipated Salary Range
Upper 20's to commensurate with education and experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
