Join a dedicated career and alumni success team and help SCAD students and alumni land their dream jobs.

In this Washington D.C.-based role, you will identify and network with prospective external partners, develop and strengthen industry relationships, and oversee the alumni population in your region. You will research, pursue and secure career opportunities for students and alumni. In addition, you will plan, host and evaluate strategic professional development events, and provide career coaching for students and alumni. Forty percent of your time will be spent traveling within your region.

The ideal candidate has excellent networking skills as demonstrated by established contacts in the assigned region’s creative industries. A clear understanding of the art and design job market and student career development is essential. You should possess strong communication, presentation, organizational, accounts management, event-planning and project management skills, as well as a working proficiency and understanding of information management systems and web-based technology.

This role requires a student-centered focus and the ability to effectively represent the university with a positive, proactive spirit, remaining mindful of the SCAD mission, vision and values. You should have well-developed collaboration, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a highly cooperative team. The ability to travel and work nights and weekends, as necessary, is required, as are a valid driver’s license and personal transportation.

Requirements:
⎯ Bachelor’s degree
⎯ Five to seven years of experience in marketing and business development, employment recruiting or career advising for the creative industries
⎯ Established regional business relationships in SCAD-related creative fields
⎯ Master’s degree preferred
