HEALTH PHYSICS TECH A/B

Duties: Under a broad scope medical license, perform surveys with portable and laboratory instruments; audit radiation use areas to ensure regulatory and license compliance; provide training; calibrate instruments; maintain sampling and monitoring equipment; collect and process radioactive waste, perform compliance testing of energized equipment; respond to spills/incidents (24 hour on call) and answer questions by radiation workers; distribute radionuclides; perform other duties as needed to support the radiation safety program; provide support the University s biosafety and chemical safety programs.

Qualifications: Tech A: BA/BS in science or equivalent required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience handling radioactive material and operating energized equipment preferred. Valid driver s license required.

Tech B: BA/BS in science or equivalent required plus 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience handling radioactive material and operating energized equipment preferred. Valid driver s license required.
