Duties: University of Pennsylvania Press, publisher of scholarly and semipopular books and journals, seeks a Journals Assistant to provide comprehensive production, distribution, business, and administrative support for the Journals Division. Specific duties include helping to maintain circulation and fulfillment records, updating websites, handling subscriber service issues, assisting with manuscript formatting, creating marketing materials, corresponding with and research of paid and exchange advertisers, and filing. Reports to the journals operations manager.

Qualifications: High-school graduate plus one to two years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree strongly preferred.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Computer aptitude and fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel essential; familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop, and FileMakerPro helpful. Internship or other background in scholarly publishing desirable. Must be organized, able and willing to handle a large variety of tasks and details.
