Job Summary: The Veteran Admission Counselor responsibilities include program coordination and support of recruitment programs of the Office of Admission. The counselor facilitates ongoing communication with community colleges and community organizations. The veteran counselor will reach out to all regional military base educational services officers to explore opportunities for all recruitment and outreach to current military personnel. Additional duties include admissions recruitment, counseling, outreach, application review, traveling to local or regional community colleges and military bases. Some evening and weekend hours required. Requires occasional work at the Schaumburg campus. Must possess a valid driver's license. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Admission.

Working Hours:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: A minimum of 1 year experience working in admissions/enrollment. Develops and manages relationships both external and within Roosevelt University. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multicultural environment. Self-starter and ability to prioritize independently. Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. A positive and professional demeanor is necessary. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
