The UNTHSC Department of Health Behavior and Health Systems' goal is to help students develop the expertise to effectively engage communities and health systems in improving policy, management, and public health practice. Our graduates assume positions in healthcare, business, human services, research, and academic settings. Our masters and doctoral programs are delivered by experienced faculty who use engaging, innovative teaching methods. HBHS faculty are also widely recognized for their impactful research. Their work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, National Science Foundation, and many other national, state and local agencies. Faculty are widely published in the areas of patient safety, disease control, health disparities and underserved populations, women's and children's health, participatory research, substance abuse prevention, and online/m-health interventions. HBHS faculty have received national and international awards for their work bridging teaching, research and practice.
The Behavioral & Community Health Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Research Assistant will assist with a study serving clients in the community with mental health conditions.
* Employee will interview participants during their baseline and follow-up research visits.
* Interviews include computer-based self-report assessments, and some physiological measures (height, weight, cheek swab drug screen). Interviews may take 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the study visit.
* Since study questionnaires are completed on a laptop, the employee must be able to move easily through the systems, address any issues that may occur during the interview process, and enter all data accurately.

The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from four (4)-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* At least 2 years of field experience interviewing people in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
* A high degree of computer proficiency, with online data entry and management experience.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Experience working in the field with people with chronic physical or mental health conditions.
